What is Chia Seed Pudding?

Chia seed pudding is similar to tapioca because of the creaminess, but is packed with nutrients! It’s an easy breakfast you can make the night before that will fuel and energize you all morning long! We especially love this breakfast option for those over 50 because of the heart healthy omega 3 fatty acids, high protein levels, and calcium in chia seed pudding. 

There are so many ways you can customize this chia seed pudding recipe based on what you have a taste for or what ingredients you have on hand.

How to Make Chia Seed Pudding

Chia Seed Pudding Ingredients 

  • 1 cup non dairy milk (almond milk, coconut milk, cashew milk) 

  • 3 tablespoons chia seeds

  • β…› teaspoon of vanilla extract

  • Pinch of cinnamon 

Chia Seed Pudding Topping Suggestions: 

  • Drizzle of honey or maple syrup 

  • Fresh berries

  • Banana slices 

  • Nuts 

  • Granola 

  • Homemade jam or compote 

  • Shredded coconut 

Chia Seed Mix In Suggestions: 

Try stirring these into your chia seed pudding mixture for extra flavor: 

  • Lemon or orange zest 

  • Cacao powder 

  • Matcha powder 

  • Peanut butter


Chia Seed Pudding Instructions:

  • Combine the milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract in a mason jar or small bowl. If you are adding any additional mix in ingredients, add and stir now. 

  • Whisk in chia seeds and cover. 

  • Place in the fridge for at least two hours or overnight. You want the chia seeds to have time to absorb the liquid and soften so it turns into a pudding-like texture.

  • Give the mixture another stir before you eat it to break up any chia seed clumps.

  • Top with ingredients of your choosing and enjoy! 

  • Chia seed pudding will last in the fridge for 5 days.
